The Centre for Hausa Literature and Culture which has its Head Office in the Central Business District of Kaduna was born out of a passion for preserving and promoting the rich literary and cultural heritage of the Hausa people. Our story began with a shared vision among a group of scholars, writers, and artists who recognized the importance of safeguarding our cultural legacy for future generations.

With a deep love for Hausa literature and culture, our founders sought to create a hub where scholars, writers, and artists could come together to celebrate, study, and advance our literary and cultural traditions. The Centre was established to address the need for a dedicated space where Hausa literary works could be preserved, promoted, and made accessible to a wider audience.

Our mission is to encourage the reading and writing of Hausa literature, as well as the creation of cultural artistic works. We aim to provide a platform for emerging writers and artists to showcase their talents, while also honoring the contributions of established scholars and creatives. Through our programmes and activities, we seek to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Hausa literature and culture, both locally and internationally.

At the Centre, we believe that our literary and cultural heritage has the power to inspire, educate, and unite people across generations and borders. We are committed to creating a vibrant community that celebrates our rich cultural diversity and promotes cross-cultural understanding. By preserving and promoting Hausa literature and culture, we hope to leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

The Centre had in the past sponsored a good number of literature and cultural activities including the International Hausa Day 2023 celebration at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna in 2023.
